Hello and welcome to Gales Ferry Karate home of the Okina Kashi no Ryu or Great Oak Style of Karate.

- There's something different about our school, yet something very familiar -
You won't see spandex, gym shoes, aerobics or Cardio-karate we don't teach you how to dance, and "look" like you know karate. We teach real Karate, based in practical applications so that when the time comes you have the skills to defend yourself you can.
What is familiar is that we are a family, all of the Gales Ferry Karate students, Black Belts and Shihan Palko would like invite you to come to visit our school and train with us and become part of our family.

DOJO KUN
The Dojo Kun are the 5 precepts created by Shotokan's Founder Gichin Funakoshi. They are recited by all students before and after class to remind all Karate Practicioners that the Martial Arts are not only about building good fighters, but also building good citizens of Good Character, with Self-Confidence, Self-Control and Self-Discipline.

The Dojo Kun is:

Seek perfection of character
Be Faithful
Endeavor
Respect Others
